Svalbard Church

This northernmost church is part of the church of Norway of the Lutheran tradition. It's open 24/7, and also hosts regular services.

There is usually coffee and tea available, and sometimes some cookies or cake.

Sunday services are at 11, but please check the schedule on their website or Facebook page.

Inside are several taxidermy Polar Bears.

Even though the church is open to everyone and at any time, it is not allowed to sleep here. There is a history of the church being used as a place to sleep during extraordinary times, but you are expected to have a place to sleep somewhere else when you arrive on the island.
